Forgive me if this has been asked before but can those of you that have sidecar outfits please tell me what tyre pressures they use. Mine is a heavy weight sidecar attached to a 500cc Electra X (yes I know Norm doesn't like them). Avon sidecar tyres. All information appreciated.

What sidecar are you describing as "Heavyweight?" I doubt an Electra X at 25bhp is capable of pulling one.
I have two sidecar outfits, a Honda CX500/Velorex 700 which I run at 24PSI all round.
The K75S BMW/Squire ST1 outfit is run at 31psi front, 36PSI rear and the side car wheel (10" mini wheel,) is run at 24PSI or 30PSI depending on the weight carried.

Year 2007 Bullet 500cc with Manx chair. This is what I have, not neccessarily what I should have.....
PSI: Front 26 (It's a "back" tyre) Back 28 Sidecar Depends very much who is in it. Eg soft for wife as she doesn't weigh much and rattles around on bumps...
It's a good question; people often say..... See what works best, but I wonder if you'd only know when it's too late ; )

If it helps - contact patch area is gross laden individual wheel weight in pounds divided by tyre pressure in psi, answer is contact patch area in square inches. The unknown is wheel weight with you and passenger; some bathroom scales go to 30 stone = 420-lbs, others break. In any case it's approximate so a good guess is prolly good enough.

Avon recommend for their Triple Duty Sidecar tyre F29 R30 psi and (I assume Sidecar 30 psi)
