Girder Forks - What fits what?

Hi All,

I'd appreciate some girder fork advice if anybody can help. I'm in the process of rebuilding a 1937 Model S. The bike has it's original pressed steel girders which aren't in the best condition. I've struggled to find any parts for the pressed forks and was considering transplanting a set of girders from another bike (I don't like the pressed ones much anyway)

I did hear that WD/CO forks were a direct replacement.... would appreciate any advice or info.

I think it's possible that the WD/C forks will fit. The WD/C was a much lighter bike than the WD/CO and there are several versions of the forks, I don't know if this is because they are different or it was simply improvements and modifications during the War. Unfortunately the WD/CO type forks are in great demand and even if you can find them they tend to fetch fairly serious money (£300+) even in used condition. They will fit quite a few Enfield models both pre and post war and are particularly prized by the WD motorcycle fraternity. You could ask on the WD motorcycle forum, they are a helpful lot, http://pub37.bravenet.com/forum/static/ ... 39&frmid=0
