I have just purchased a new Bullet Electra EFI and I am not sure the best way to go regarding panniers, i.e. panniers or throw-overs, I actually would in the near future like both and was wondering if I bought the Givi panniers from the shop, could I use bags with the Givi pannier frames or would I need to by the special frames for the EFI to use throw-overs, I know I cannot use the military style frames on the EFI

Throw overs are useful because they can be easily removed and taken into a motel when travelling. The down side is, they are usually not waterproof, they are easily blown off the motorcycle if they are empty and not tied down either with bungy straps or cable ties and they can wear the paint off where they touch parts of the frame.

If you fit the small Electra frames, you can fit RE or other panniers to them, or use the Givi flop-overs without them going into the wheel.

I am currently modifying the Electra 93040 frames to fit Classic 500 EFi because RE leather panniers slide off the back slope of 'new' mudguard frame.

I fitted a set of pannier frames from Hitchcock's 'special offers' section and bolted on a set of second hand Touratech soft waterproof panniers. They can be strapped up small and will take a lot of luggage when needed.

Electra frames 93040 do fit the current C5 with a bit of cutting, hammering and paint. If you have the pukka pillion seat fitted.
