Hi all, is it normal for the speedo needle to bounce around? I'v replaced the cable with a UK made one and lubed it up, and put the little copper washer at the speedo end. there are no kinks. It gets worse with speed and bumps also i can hear a faint clicking sound with every rotation... My bike is a 2004 sixty5 bullet 500. the speedo is not original, the previous owner gave me the original speedo so i could know the correct Kms, the needle had snaped off!!!

Any suggestions?

Thanks

If the speedo is the same brand as the original, it shouldn`t matter. The indicators do sway a small amount but not bounce. Be careful with lubrication of the cable as too much can work its way into the housing and gum up the works. If all else fails, I would take it to a speedometer specialist who will calibrate it properly and remove any bouncing problems.

Mine does bounce but no clicking noise, maybe the drive on the speedo is worn if cable is brand new
