Thanks Steve T

Pretty sure the C5 has that lug or boss on the mudguard frame.

My name is Jeff, 'jefrs' is a just mash-up of name and initials, been using is online forever ;)

The seat might fit but there is one extra protrusion on the frame under the seat, the rear bracket for the C5's rubber bust seat mount aft of the tongue fitting. This just clears the rear nut of the tongue fitting but may stop an 'old' seat from sitting down far enough, they're about the same height. I do not want to take the angle grinder to the frame, I do want to keep the frame stock.

I do hope you didn't dismantle your bike for me.

But what I would like to know now is the clearance under the seat where my rearward mounting is. Is the seat at level with the front mount and parallel (it clears) to the frame or does it slope down (it fouls)?

I keep meaning to take pics of my bike with bits off ...

The rider's seat is now a little lower, the bolt now passes through the little 'elbow' below the spring, above where it is in the pic. With my 15 stone on it, it is pushed well down but doesn't keep pogo-ing me over lumps and bumps

Wonder if this might work? Not familiar with flicking flickr thing. Although I heartily dislike flickr I am obliged to use it for family stuff.
