Hi all,

wheres the best place to get a manual for a 2015 classic (battle green) efi?

I need to take the tank off to route some wiring for oxford hot hands...

Cheers

I found the 2012 EFi workshop manual PDF on a german(?) site. It is near enough. Sorry, can't remember link, didn't save it, Google for EFi RE manual

The RE wiring diagram is next to useless. Scalyback's schematic (thanks ScB) I found on this thread here http://www.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/vi ... orumorder=

Do note that the factory does not stick to their own colour-coding. So do check wiring with a meter.

One or two of the black ground wires are live and blow fuse if shorted to frame, oops. Red can become red/white. Orange might be blue. Doh!

The C5 wiring I found a bit tight (not enough wire) and very untidy, sorted.

Take the seat off as well as the tank, it makes life easier, and loosen that head-stay off. Be prepared for the fuel pump/tap to dribble.

Me, I got wind proof gloves and hot hands. I get cold legs.

Have fun.

Thinking about it, the workshop manual is not going to be a lot of use to you. Scalyback's diagram is.

The manual is close to useless for electrics. Reality and the manual diagrams are not even close in some cases... multimeter and time (plus Scaly's diagrams) are what you need. But bear in mind that Scaly's diagrams are for his bike... which isn't your bike - so assume that they will be different :(

In fact, it would probably be easiest to find out what you need to connect for the hot hands and communicate answers over the forum...

Sorry I can't help with the original question, but this bit caught my eye ;- "and loosen that head-stay off". Just wondered why?

Thanks for the google tip - I've found it. Just need to get it printed now!

Not fussed about wiring diagram per se, just going to attach direct to the battery like my ZZR.

I need it more for taking the tank off etc so I cant route the wires neatly.

Having used Scaley's diagrams to fit the PCv and tacho, they're more than good enough for the 2015 Classic 500, very close.

But, but do be prepared for the wrong colour wire. Do check with the multi-meter.

Removing the tank is pretty simple. Disconnect fuel line last 'cos it may dribble. Unplug fuel gauge and fuel pump. Undo the two bolts, then fuel line and lift tank off, put aside with fuel pipe uppermost to prevent little leaks (well away from where you are working just in case).

You may want to pull the seat off too as it makes life easier.
