New MOT history site from DVLA, it shows all the pass & fails on a potential purchase, just search MOT HISTORY.

Yes, told me that Tornado failed last year???

But then passed (Headlamp beam too low). I guess Chris had a word with them, ohh, must check up, Thuink Toprnado needs another (sigh) MOT before I get back.

The Devious LA's site says "MOT history - this service is currently unavailable" Which shows how useless they can be as on another page you get the history. Link below.

Just checking my Enfields details and comes back vehicle not recognised. And my f650cs has failed more mot's than it has passed.

To someone idly looking at reg numbers, particularly cars, may well be getting a false picture. The garage that has looked after our cars these past 15 years do an MOT before the main service which is done at the same time. Any faults the MOT shows up are then dealt with during the service & re MOT'd. It could very well be done the other way & the vehicle would show a perfect history. or there could be something missed or not a service item that shows up on MOT.
F'rinstance one of my neighbours cars has had a lot of grief but all the MOTs are passes whereas ours has a couple of fails
OK if used as a bit passing interest I suppose

I'm confused. Why don't they do the service first and then the MOT. It would seem the most logical way.

To me the fact that there were no failures in the vehicles history would indicate that the car had been looked after and serviced on time. The check enables someone to check the history of the vehicle including mileage and help in the decision making for a prospective buyer. Hats off to the the DVLA for providing a worthwhile service

I have been Told that they have to find a fault with so many our it flags up with in the system etc,(Not Checking hard enough?? or Fault Finding?/)so with both cars and bikes at different Garages ..I have been Told Sory Mate its Failed on your Head Light "To and From Pc"..Hits Head Lamp with Palm of hand and..Its Ok its passed now no charge ;0)
Car garages tend to tey and sell you that tier you do not need changing First. Som Just Press Fail Then Pass same thing "As Long as it Passes anint' it mate",,, Cheers all Craig

My bike doesn't exist apparently. Does this mean I don't have to have anymore mot's? Only I quite enjoy sitting around scoffing bacon butties and drinking tea while the tester waits for the test to time out.
