Hi all, I've just bought an 11 year old Bullet 500. It's a bit of a DIY Frankenstein's Monster, looks and sounds great but if you look a bit closer, a few things look decidedly iffy. Does anyone know of service/mechanical specialist in the Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Beds or Bucks areas please, thank you

Have a chat with these guys, http://mts-motorcycles.co.uk/services/ who aren't very far from me. Failing that I'll take a look if you want. Could you be more specific about the problems/worries?

Oxfordshire Royal Enfield, web site link below. I have bought 6 Royal Enfields from Bruce over the years and nothing has ever been to much trouble. He is also a very good engineer.

I hope you get things sorted and enjoy your Bullet, they are very addictive once you have owned one for a while and there is so much knowledge and help on this friendly forum.

Many thanks for all your replies. I will look into those.
I don't really have any specific worries but just want to have it checked over and serviced properly to make sure everything is sound. Had a slight stumbling block to replacing the air filter to find it had been moved out of the right hand tool box into an old style box but modified so a filter would no longer work with it and filled with Scotchbright pads! I've some great help from the guys at Hitchcocks thought and I'm getting there with it slowly. The wiring also looks like a dogs dinner but having said that, it all works fine and just needs some TLC and attention from someone who knows what they're doing to put it right. Thanks again for the recommends :)
