Right Now My 1998 STD (Home Mkt) Bullet 350 which has started 1st and 2nd Kick for over 16 years (50,000 Miles) is acting up Just because I left it down the Garden standing for Two years!!....
Now with a Shot of Petrol in the Plug Hole she pulls & runs Loverly (As she always Did) BUT! with out This She Fires First Kick then Will not? Run Bang Conk...Q: Any Idea's
Part Two: She is still Running on her Original (Indian) Points Which seem Fine the :CAM ASSEMBLY

Code: 140951 on the other hand is rusted and pitted?? Yes i have given it a Quick Clean and Grease??
Q: How Critical is a mildly Pitted Cam? and Or If I went to Sure Fire/Elec Points set up Would I need a Good Cam??
..Its not that I am Tight but Times are hard etc, But old Bessie the Bullet in her Original Set up has done sterling service and While wanting to do right by her I dont want to Fix what aint wrong! ??
She has a Micarb but Other than Starting Seems ok and Clean?...But as Said a Squirt down the Plug hole Bore and She will do 50MPH round the Block but with out that Reluctant to Fire? (Petrol? well once Going she runs and Pulls so something is getting through)////Cheers all Craig

Craig, have you put any new fuel in the tank? Two year old fuel will have 'gone off'. I would strip the carb and clean everything thoroughly.I would also check the delivery of fuel from the tank. I would not worry too much about the cams.

And replace the plug as the denatured fuel will have killed it stone dead.

I do not think there is anything wrong with ignition Craig more likely the carb is crapped up, in particular the pilot circuits. As indicated by your crude but effective priming method

I'm with the 'strip and clean the carby' mob...

Thank you for the Commonsense reply's.. So its a Carb Strip then,(I did Fill the Carb with WD 40 when I laid her up and Viz it seemed/Look ok)..All though I did Fire he up 2nd Kick with Old battery.oil etc..I have Since Serviced her ,New Battery & Fuel etc,(So I am not that Cruel) .She remains in very good ,rust free condition considering her out door life etc...
