Hi all,
For anyone interested, here is a link to a pic of our 350 racer, now fitted with a short conrod, making the engine about 1 1/4" shorter. At 33 bhp, there are still a couple of horses required to match the best the old 'ordinary' engine can do, but it pulls from 2,000 rpm to 8,000 rpm strongly in top gear. After watching an enduro recently, I got thinking it might be good for an off road job with extra ground clearence in a Crusader type frame, too!
Paul.

Very nice! That's a Kiwi on the tank I see. Are you down here in NZ? In which case did I meet you once on Ponsonby and Jervois Roads intersection when I was on my old Bullet?

Hi Simon,
No, we are from South Wales in the U.K. The Kiwis are on both racing Enfields, with the number 196 underneath. These are Henchy's [my Brother] tribute to Paul Dobbs, a racer from N.Z. and a good friend who was sadly killed in the I.O.M. a couple of years ago while racing there. 196 was his race number in the VMCC Historic Racing.
Paul.

Arh yes I heard of this sad event at the time and of course there is a tribute to him in the Isle of Mann TT film ( the name of which briefly escapes me) that came out a year or so ago showing the season in which he was killed.
