Headlamp bulb adaptor

Hi Guys. I have a 1996 535cc iron barrel and find it impossible to buy the necessary P45T headlamp bulbs here in Cape Town, other than 35/35W ones for an old Mercedes, and they are too dim.

I have read of an adaptor that will fit where the P45T base sits and convert it to the P43T which is a standard headlamp fitting for cars - that would enable me to buy bulbs as I need. Yes, I can buy bulbs from our host but the landed, post-customs, cost here for all items ranges 95-110% above the quoted catalog cost!

Has anyone tried this adaptor and can comment? I especially want to know if the P43T bulb sits at the correct focus point and at the correct angle so that dip really dips.
BTW, our hosts do not sell such an item.
Cheers, ChrisD

If our hosts don't sell a P45T to P43t adaptor you can get one here, scroll down the page to find it, Pt.no. BP4543AD:

Unless yours is still a particularly good headlamp unit I'd be tempted to replace it with one that takes the current H3/P43T bulbs, if your local suppliers have one at a reasonable cost.
