Electra 2006,
If bike has been standing for a few weeks, have to kick over using decomp about 20times to get it to fire,or churn away on starter for ages.once started will easily restart on kickstart or starter.
Any suggestions please
Thanks
Jenks

New, not just cleaned, sparkplug usually solves it on mine.
Good luck,

This is worth a try. Remove plug and put a small splash of fuel directly into cylinder. Put plug back quickly and attempt to start. If it does, then fuel is somehow not getting into the cylinder in the normal manner. That gives you some thing to go on.

Mine is exactly the same after a couple of weeks of not being used. Fine all the other times. Thought it might be the battery losing some poke but it is still reluctant after coming off charge. I then thought it might be stale fuel in the carb but it is still the same after draining and filling with fresh. PeteF has a good point, perhaps it's a shortage of any fuel, worth a go.

My 2007 Electra is the same. After standing for some time i have to kick it over a number of times before it starts. However if used regularly it starts 1st time. I've just got used to it.
