I have a question about the AC wiring.
There is an orange wire coming out of the alternator which goes to the regulator, headlight and hi-beam idiot light, I assume this is the earth.
The yellow wire goes to the regulator, R/H switch light on/off, and the L/H switch HI/Lo.
Then there is yellow/red wire from the R/H switch to the L/H switch.
So the question is why does the yellow wire go to the hi/lo switch.? Doesn't the power come from the yellow/red wire on/off switch? Surely the hi/lo beam switch doesn't need 2 +wires?

Still learning about this myself, but with the AC side you don't have anything going to earth. The yellow wire is the feed to the AC regulator and on to the main light switch which controls - well everything. The right hand switch is normally just the ignition kill switch. The yellow/red wire feed wire is from the AC regulator to another pin on the light switch, according to my Snidal manual. The orange/amber wire is the return from what would otherwise be the earth tab on the h/l bulb back to the alternator, which the AC uses instead of an earth. The rest of the electrics run off the DC side with a conventional -ve earth. A.

The Amber wire is the 'Earth' (return) The two wires from the switch are the feed for the Hi (blue) and the Lo (green)
