That is a good idea what size eyebolt is that looks like an M3

It's am M something, had to enlarge existing hole just slightly, ether a 5 or 5.5 mm drill, can't remember.
Ok, Ok, I know, but a little hard to get imperial stock in France, birthplaces of the metric system.

I could fit a grease nipple to the stand itself, to pump into the shaft.
I did start to drill into the end of the shaft, before I realised that it would only squeeze out of the split pin holes!
