Hi everyone have just bought a Stebel magnum t80 horn as the one on my bike is so quiet,
I wired it in to the standard terminals and pressed the button very deep and loud but the next time I pressed it nothing so started the bike and tried it and the ammeter swung way over to the left. Thought I'd connect some wire to the terminals and try off the car battery it worked again very loud. It say on the packaging 12 volt 6 amp does it need a relay or wiring direct to battery, if so can anyone recommend a way to wire. It
Thanks Steve

You will need a four pole relay.Connect the wires that you have now that operate the horn to terminals 85 and 86, it does not matter which way round. If you only have one wire at present to the horn connect that to terminal 86 and connect 85 to earth, there are usually two wires though.Run a 1.5 mm (at least) wire from the battery to terminal 30/51 using a 15 amp fuse as close to the baterry as you can. Connect terminal 87 to the horn. The horn may need an earth of its own. I hope this helps.

Too wire use old horn wires to operate relay low current side. then run a wire thought a fuse from battery to relay and then relay too horn. Not forgetting to return wire it.

Thanks Steve - it was longer ago than I thought. I might get the double version and hope the shock wave breaks every unused white van mirror in N. Kent. (If you ever fancy an off forum chat email me wingedwords"at"hotmail dot co dot uk)
