NYLON SWARF IN STRAINER

Hello Just completed oil change on classic efi 2009 model, when removing oil strainer small curls of nylon material in filter, has any one had this issue, bike starts and runs well ,only 1,500 from new i am puzzled . Thanks again

I wish i could say don't worry but bits of swarf of any material in a six year old motor worries me..
Pump pinion is nylon i believe, might be worth taking the cover off just for peace of mind..
Other opinions are available..

Oil pump drive gear is white nylon (in right hand engine case). Check it's condition (and replace anyway!!). Could be nylon from nylon nuts? Or maybe the chain tensioner pad in the primary side? Other than that I couldn't tell ya...

Hello.Further examination of this nylon like swarf material, it is a clear rubber tubing material cut in half about 5mm long,about 3 pieces, this is soft rubber not hard as nylon is, could this be some wire sleeving material in the aternator area. Thanks again.

Could someone clarify for me please, what "oil strainer." (Not mentioned in either manual I have for my Electra X.)
