There is an oil filler plug on the top of the left hand crankcase on my 2012 efi. I have scoured the workshop manual and maintenance schedules but can not find:
a) what oil goes in it and b) how do you check the oil level.
I am assuming it is for the clutch but being a bit thick (me, not the oil)could someone enlighten me please?
Many thanks. Mick

Its just to 'prime' the clutch side of things after an oil change. Remember, the EFI has a unit construction engine - this means that the same oil in the crankcase is the same oil in the clutch and the two are connected with oilways! So whatever you put in the main oil filler (10-40W or whatever) you keep around a coke can's worth back for the wee filler on the left hand side. You do not check the oil level in the clutch side... only check on the right hand side through the sightglass. It's all the same oil!

Thanks Michael, nicely explained. It's just a shame they don't put this information in the service manual or the handbook.
