Just noticed a small (very small) petrol leak on the weld of the rear fixing bracket, just ordered some petro putty which should fix it, but I was wondering if there is a way to make the tank more insulated from vibration, it appears that the brackets are bolted directly to the frame haven't taken the tank off yet to see. I'm hoping it's poor weld rather than a vibration split. Are there any rubber mounts for these tanks?

I found a couple of rubber washers, one between the head of the front bolt and the tank, the other between the nut and the tank cut down the drumming noise and so presumably the vibration. It would be better between the tank and frame but there wasn't the space. I think I used tap washers bored out to suit the bolt diameter.

Classic place for a leak I'm afraid. Part of the problem is that the brackets can flex as the bolt is tightened. Make sure you pack with washers so the brackets don't flex.
