hi, i have just bought a 1948 model j enfield.what grade engine oil ,would i use .20/50 or a straight 50 grade.?. also panther m100 owners ,what grade engine oil for a 1960 panther. thanks , rick . australia

Hi Rick, I have a Panther M120 and run it successfully on straight 50 in summer and 40 in winter. Oil grade and consumption is a frequent subject of discussion within the Panther Owners Club. My mate has a couple of 600 Slopers (1935 and 1950) and they both run on straight 50 all year round. Warm enough over here and in Aus that you don't need to change to 30 or 40 in the winter.
