Tank liner removal?

Anyone ever done this as opposed to "knowing someone's mate who did it"?! I need to remove some "Flowliner" I think it was, that I put in the Meteor tank about 20 (ahem!) years ago. This was pre-Ethanol and the damn stuff has gone brittle and is contaminating the fuel. What is the solvent for it, does anyone know? Ta,

Hi Mark, my recollection of the name "Flowliner" is that it was a paint pinstriping kit! Could it possibly be "Petseal" in your tank? Possibly preaching to the converted here, but the easiest way to remove it may be the paraffin and loose nuts/washers etc in the capped tank and multiple good shakings and drainings to dislodge the substance!

I may have totally lost the plot, but would ethanol not be a good choice?

It seems to dissolve just about everything else!

Scaly, you are so right. I have just purchased 6L of the stuff and we'll see what happens. I was hoping that somebody had some hints and tips, like how long it takes to get the seams clean, that sort of thing, but I'll do it and report back! The tank had a weep when I got it and I had it welded but I can't remember if I lined it as well or lined it before welding. We'll see!
