Guys,
I'm restoring a Wartime Flea and am struggling with Points & Condensor? Are replacements or substitutes available anywhere?

Blimey, where are all these Fleas coming from, you must be the sixth person to ask this question in as many months! Seriously, the answer is no, no spares because the originals were rubbish and presumably no-one wants to remake them! A pal of mine who has experience of these says the best thing is to use a set of modern points and make your own attachment. You could also try the guys at the WD Motorcycle Forum, they have several Flea threads going on at the moment:

Now here's a thing. This guy is the latest of 5 or 6? in the last year or so to post wanting Miller points for Fleas. I did some research and found that a) there aren't any, b) the originals are rubbish, c) how to get round the problem and d) the address of the appropriate WD Motorcycles website. Not one of these guys replied to say thanks, and this particular one is now posting over there! It can't be WD bike owners are rude as I've met a few and they are fine, is it just that they attract collectors? Never mind, great day riding the Interceptor to the Motorcycle Museum and more tomorrow!

Forgive me Mark, but this seems a bit harsh on the gent who made this enquiry. To be fair, the help that was given really didn’t offer much help at all. He was simply told to use a modern set of points and make his own attachment. If I was told that I’d have no idea which points to use or how to make my own ‘attachment’. Maybe that’s my fault, but it still seems to me not really to have met his needs. And do we really expect everyone we help with a problem to submit a ‘thank you’ comment? I don’t feel that's needed. If it helps it helps. However, it can be helpful to others if we hear that some advice has solved a problem - but surely no need on every occasion to post a 'thank you'.

Hi, don't know if you have resolved your points issue yet but I had the same problem, I purchased a set of points and condenser from an early (1980 ish)honda c50, I removed the old points plate and drilled the mag cover to locate the points, then drilled and tapped a 4mm hole to hold the points in place, the condenser should be able to be bolted to one of the original holes,I have some photos if you need them

Thanks for the feedback Yogi, that's what makes a Message Board like this work, very helpful! Incidentally, Smudge (under a different name,) posted on WD Motorcycles and didn't answer the responses he got there either. A Message Search is always worthwhile on this Board, I've done a bit of research on the Miller points and managed to find out some pointers (although sadly, not a complete fix,) which I have posted at length before and won't repeat as Yogi has actually done it.
