Not exactly a Brough, but glimpsed a oil rag original
cinderella at a local ,swap meet out here in the colonies
yesterday allegedly rebuilt. Am aware these are a late
deravation of the Model G, Redditch using up obselete
parts stock with earlier gerbox with external linkage,
276 Amal, and Magdyno. Just curios if anyone had had
one, and how do they match with a Redditch Bullet.
Steve Wilson gets misty eyed about them so just wondering

Also known as the Model G Deluxe, basically a Model G engine in a version of the late original Bullet frame. (The frame used just before the big re-design for 1956.) I haven't ridden one but on paper it should be quite nice, the frame is more than adequate for the power of the motor and that modest power is delivered very smoothly. You won't get the punch of the higher compression Bullet or the retro pre-war feel of the rigid Model G but I'd say nice enough for a budget "commuter" machine which is the market it was built for. Rare in this country, I've never seen one but heard of one for sale recently although I can't remember where, Ebay?

Thanxs, Mark for your reliable response. Although 'bikes anywhere
are priced what the local market will bear, nearby at the same
swap meet was a Triumph Trident in better shape for the same money.
The Clipper was as you described with a tiny restrictive 276 Amal,
single Terry saddle, 6" single front drum brake, and Miller tail lamp
Faded original colour seemed a bland light olive green or khaki,
and 'bike would eligible for collector's plates so insurance would be
peanuts 'cept the only thing you're not allowed to do with that coverage
is actually commute, the very thing you accurately esteemed
