Can some kind person/people tell if metal work like mudguards, tank, side panels, fork covers, etc are 'common' to a number of bikes including the Electra. Basically I want to replace the 'newish' metal work no on the bike with another set so that I can repaint it olive drab, so if these parts are the same as other bikes I have more choice and would be cheaper to buy? I can also adapt the replacement parts. Any thoughts please.

I doubt parts from any other bike would fit an Electra, there is a slight possibility the front guard might have some Jap equivalent,side covers and rear guard Electra specific

H matey----------- have a word with GRUNDA 12 for copious supplies of olive drab ( as opposed to drab Olive, from "On the Buses" !!)

Graham, I've got a pair of Electra side panels if you want them.

Thanks all for your advice including Rog for the offer of side panels, as it happens by pure luck a trader was selling some Electra tinware at Garstang today, bit scratched and a few dents but perfect for me. Also thanks about the paint info - I have some over from a WW2 sidecar I built but that is another story.
