Rear light cover

I discovered my tail light and rear brake lights were gone. Suspecting a loose earth I opened the cover and found that this insert in the cover had fallen over the bulb causing it to overheat and blow both filaments. The insert is melted beyond use. A new bulb fixed the immediate problem but I wonder why
they designed this as they did.
I can't see a replacement in H's catalogue.. apart from a whole new cover. £35.00...
Maybe I should ring to H's and see if they can help...
