Hey again guys , i am at the point of wiring my bike after a restoration , and the control box voltage revulator that is on my bike reads MCR1 , and i was wondering if it is possible to fit a control box that i found that says MCR2 , i don't think there could be a big issue , but i figured i would ask first to see if anyone has any ideas or whether it would work ,
Thank you guys , and have a great day
By the way its a 49 model g rigid 350 6volt

The MCR2 will replace the MCR1. BUT when these items were designed they were at the cutting edge of technology, however electronics have moved forward a long way since then, if the MCR2 is an original Lucas item it is probably worn out and if it is the Indian copy it is crap and pretty useless, far better to use a modern electronic unit they are far more reliable and the battery will love you for it, also the old CVC units take and waste a lot of the power produced by the dynamo the charging will be far better with a modern replacement.

As the Reverend Band says, junk it and fit electronic. As yours is visible you might want to fit a unit that goes inside the original casing, I can recommend units from these guys, http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com/ contact them for more details.
