Hello, one day last week my trusty Enfield gave up the struggle and threw the towel in, or to be more precise the Con rod out. Thus I have a significant aperture in the crankcase and something has been ejected through the top of the oil tank... It's not pretty.
I have not yet stripped the engine, but intuition tells me that I'm going to need another pair of cranckases and a new ctankshaft/flywheel, other parts as well no doubt, but its the Crankcases and crankshaft which I worry I'm going to struggle with...
Does anyone know where I might source some reasonably priced Crankcases and Crankshaft?? I really want to get this old girl back on the road, but don't know where to find these parts... Please help if you can.
For info the bike is my daily commuter (28 miles a day), it has 35k miles on the clock, I rebuilt it about 15k miles ago with new big end, mains, Barrel, Piston, oil pumps, spindle and pump drive worm, also fitted oil pressure relief valve and Boyer Electronic ignition at the time. Amal concentric was fitted when I bought the bike. I never push this bike hard and was not caning her at the time of the failure.
