Chaps
I'm just putting the loom together, for Slo Poke, and for some reason I have the impression that its bad practice to run the positive and negative wires to the coil together.
Am I right?

Naah, don't worry about it at all. Someone might come up with some authoritative-sounding story about crosstalk between the wires, or inductive coupling, or something, but it's nonsense. Run them how you like - just make sure the connections are good because you don't wanna break down.

I forgot to add: Last November at college I platted the coil wires together over a distance of about 18 inches (this was on a Honda CB500R engine with electronic ignition). It was fine, just fine.
