After a few suggestions please.
I have a 500cc bullet 1992. just got it at last but will not start.got fresh fuel, which goes to carb ok.she fired up and died again even with choke didnt want to know.and even when she fires up and you give a little throttle she cuts out.
Ive had the botton of carb of ,cleaned it all out ,looks ok so fitted all back on tried to start it again but nostart. spark is good.
Has any one got any ideas please.
Last owner has sent another card but its diffrent its a mikarb.so if i looked at fitting this would i have to buy new throttle cable to suit.
God ive drunk more coffee and swore than ive ever done, hahahaha but i feel it will be worth it.

what type of amal is it?

if you have problems with starting and starting off from idle, would rather look at the stationary circuit/pilot jet.

Stripped amal carb to bits, mde sure all clean,re sembled but no joy at all.

I have a mikcarb to fitt 500cc bullet, was thinking of trying that, but do i need to get new throttle cable to fitt mikcarb or would throttle cable ive got on amal carb fitt.

Also mikcarb has a choke lever on carb so i can disconnect choke cable and tyewrap it up on bike.

928 would make it a MK1.

in this picture you see the workings of the stationary circuit.

this comes from the technical notes you can find here.

have a read thru, on how to check and clean this circuit.

the easiest way would be to mount the micarb, the throttle cable will fit but will have way to much play.

also check you have no air leak at the flange.
