Seems a daft question on the face of it but is the green Electra X TCI, issued to help prevent sprag clutch failure, actually green? I have a supposedly green one smaller than the original, about the size of a 10 pack of cigarettes, except it is black albeit with a green dot, now faded to yellow. Works OK ish but I carry it as a spare as I find the original gives a smoother performance.

As far as I know its the sockets the wiring loom plugs into that are green on the later modified units for the Electra X .

My 2007 Electra X has the replacement TCI which is definitely green with brown sockets on the back. I also purchased a spare from hosts, which is green.

Now Im more confused what is this one then the old one or middle. ? Just like them keep changing things to confuse us.

Paul, that looks like the original black one, as fitted to my 2006 machine. It has the 2 pin connector for the side stand switch and is about twice the size of my spare which doesn't have that connector. If tedmunds is actually green, as I thought they would be, Lord knows what mine is, probably off another bike. Perhaps that's why it doesn't perform quite right, although the connectors are the same type. From an efi perhaps?

If you sawed through the tci in the picture just above the 4 pin connector then that would be the size of the one I have.

Hi thanks I thought that may be the case but I've seen older ones with black plugs/sockets on not green. If look in the used parts section there is a few there under electrics / ignition maybe that will help you identify your spare.
