If it was not doing it before, it is something to do with what you have recently done.
You did clean the new points?

It is a modern condenser and not some old long forgotten original item?
You do have the ignition key on Run and not Emg Start?

Check that the points cover is not touching anything on the points. On my ariel Arrow years ago, I used to put a piece of tape on inside of points cover to stop this. What coil do you have? I have a Lucas motorcycle service manual which gives primary resistance values for various coils.

I also go along with Tim, i believe new points are coated with a preservative and this should be cleaned off before use. And the fault does sound like running too long on EMG setting, this will also over charge you battery!

Forgot to say, the coil type is stamped on the bottom, e.g. "MA6" etc.

Hi all Discount above as new diagnosis is ignition timing previous problem was due to over adjusted exhaust valve causing lack of compression now rectified new problem is ignition timing got it so it will start fine from stone cold but just try to start it when its hot. More chance of splitting an atom with a chisel.
Completely checked every system on the engine Most of it new and in perfect condition double checked by a good mate who is a serial Enfield restorer 10 hours later no better option than to convert to electronic if I ever want to ride it again or better stil ride it and get home again without the AA man.
Apart from the electronic kit from our Hosts here has any one else fitted electronic ignition to a Crusader Sport if so what system was it and where did it come from ? as now at the end of my endurance and Patience as is me mate .Being the only Crusader owner in the whole of Devon and Cornwall that I know of fellow owners down here are a bit scarce.
