My insistent commanding of the welds on my swingarm nuts have finally been heard! After some agressive chiseling, grinding and cutting, going trough various tools I've finaly managed to grind away juuust enough to get the swingarm axle to spin in the nut on the opposite side!

Stef so now I understand what you were meaning, the reason they were welded is because the nuts kept coming undone, in particular the right hand side one. I ended up drilling and tapping a grub screw and a little piece of plate to stop them turning. Later ones were grub screwed from the factory

Stefaand, those nuts are not the originals. The proper nuts have a much larger diameter which should help keep them in place without unscrewing. Congratulations on getting them off! REgards, Mark

Hey Norm, yes I assumed as much. The right hand side is practically filled with weld. I'm just going to leave that on there, grinding it off would be just a waste of time and could possibly damage the frame. I'll do the same as you did on the left hand side; drill a hole and tap it for a grub screw. Yes Mark, I was thinking this while I was grinding them off, thanks for confirming. They fit into the swingarm axle hole... Thanks, I may have become a bit excited! This one nut took me 3 days to get off. This is my first ever restauration, so it's all a bit exciting!
