I'm wondering if there is any sealant that might help to seal these cross rings up, it appears we are getting a bit of weeping through them as well as around the push rod holes. Any thoughts?

Hi norm. last time i did a mk1 i used some well seal around the cross ring and tunnel seals. combined with abit of silicon sealant around the other areas. It sealed up beautifully. Ed

Agreed, I always use Welseal on the pushrod seals as it keeps them in place during assembly. I haven't used it on the Cross rings themselves but I don't see why it wouldn't help. If oil is weeping it's got to be the pushrod seals though? If the Cross rings weren't sealing you'd hear the tell tale squeak of compression escaping! REgards, Mark
