does anyone have a good method of getting crude off of eleictical connections and wiring

with crude, do you mean oxidation?



if its oxidation you can soda blast them, but that will only temporary solve the problem.

the anti oxidation coating is gone, the oxidation will come back.

replacing with new connections is the cheapest solution at that moment.

take in mind that when the wiring itself is oxidize, its not only the part you see its continues inside the pvc all along the wire.

I think he means crud. If crude that would be crude oil which eats wiring.

Are you talking about the green "fur" which is copper sulphate?
This can be cleaned and neutralised with a rag dipped in a solution of washing soda.
A smear of Vaseline when dry helps to stop it reforming.

Bit of waxhoyl on a rag works and leaves a waterproof coating.
