Houston, we have a problem

The large nut that holds the brake drum on Effie's back wheel needs to be slackened off so I can adjust the chain. In the past I have used an 11/16" whitworth ring spanner because it's the only one that I have that will go anywhere near it.
Unfortunately I have only been able to "edge" grip the nut because the proximity of the bottom suspension mount stops the spanner from seating properly.
This has started to round off the edges of the nut so I would like to source a thin walled socket to do the job. This would (I think) need to be a 30.48mm. Does anyone know where I can get one of these or, suggest some alternative??Ta

I suggest trying a 30mm socket. Tolerances are wider that many people think.

I can confirm, a 30mm socket or spanner is the way forward, I have a 30mm King Dick spanner (!!) that fits perfectly!

I am also surprised at how useful 15mm sized spanners and sockets are although they are difficult to find.

Gentleman (and others) ;-) thanks for that, I will hie me off to the tool bar for one. It was the .48 that was worrying me as there doesn't seem to be any about but I'll try a 30mm.
