Chain/Transmission noise

Hello,

I've a 1967 Indian Bullet. I've realized it makes some noise while in low gears at low speed, when I go faster it disappears. The problem is basically the same as described on this video:

Any idea?

Thank you,
Kaderno.

That sounds like a dry chain. (It looks like it as well on that video.)

Does the noise disappear in top gear? If so, could be layshaft bearings.

Hi,

thank you both for sharing your time and knowledge :)

Noise is bad on 1st gear, less on 2nd gear and not noticeable (maybe no noise at all) on 3rd and 4th. I think it makes also noise when I use the motor brake, not only while accelerating.

Kaderno.

It looks like the mainshaft is wobbling so maybe it's the bearing.

The one in the video sounds like the chain is shaving off a portion of alloy...

Have you got an o ring type chain which is too wide and catching on something?

Correctly tensioned when under load?

My 2p's worth - the one in the video is NOT a 1967 Bullet..........

No John, look Honda-ish to me. But then Kaderno didn't say that was the bike in question, just the noise was similar.
