No Ethanol in MURCO super unleaded fuel
Murco used to be based around the south coast, but have slowly spread. We have one in Sevenoaks now, and having heard rumours about "no ethanol" and that they have their own refinery, I wrote to Chris Blake, their Commercial and Inland Supply Manager. I got a very fast and useful response asking for my postcode.
I have heard a rumour that they sometimes use other companies fuel for outlets that are on the fringes of their area, which would explain the postcode request, but happily I received another email which I will copy below.
"Hi Simon,
All of our Unleaded contains Ethanol however our Super Unleaded is Ethanol free.
Regards
Chris"
I fed Tornado on some of the Super Unleaded, and took some home in a can. It looks like real petrol, and it smells like real petrol, and my bullet runs fine!
If you have an older iron barrel bullet and are worried about Ethanol, then try Murco if you have one, but do check with them first, that they are supplied by their own refinery which is in Westerleigh, Bristol.
NOW... Who else does Ethanol free fuel guys?
