Bought a couple of grease guns, the bottom one seems ok, pumps halfway up the tube but stops as there is air in it, just needs cleaning and a refill I think.Luckily, neither are dented.
I can't work the top one out. It is a "TECALEMIT CYCLE GUN" but I have no idea on the correct way to fill it, or if it even works, but would be good for my bullets swinging arm nipples?
Is anybody familiar with this smaller gun, and could let me know how to care and fill it?
even better, anybody willing to photograph or scan the instructions if you have them? Thanks.

The bottom one is the type supplied in 50s motorcycle toolkits, you can actually see it in some of the Bullet Parts Book illustrations. When I bought one of these I found it needed really careful cleaning, especially around the spout, ball and spring. (No sniggering at the back!) The other type is for bicycles I guess from the size. I wouldn't be surprised if you have to warm the grease to a liquid and pour it in? What did you pay for the large one?

The larger one was £8-50 and it came with a bunch of eagle brand spanners, and what looks like a meccano screwdriver!
I got the air out between the plunger and nipple, and it is working now.
Still not sussed the cycle one, but if not suitable for bullet swing arms, then will not need it.
They both came full of grease but found these pics of an empty one on the internet.
Is this supposed to be for grease or oil? or one of them slushes!

Scaly what swingarms are you going to use them on? I thought yours were Indian Bullets not English ones

When the rain finishes, I will go examine my 94 bullet closely.
It had better have grease nipples!
What's the one on top of the gearbox for, by the way?

Hi Scaly, the top nipple on the gear box is to lube the clutch actuator lever and its bearing plate..
I once worked for Tecalemit for about three years back in the early seventies..
Those guns where for grease or thick oil and where part of the tool kits on all sorts of cars and bikes, from the fifties onwards..
Even chainsaw lubes, etc went all over the world..
Horrible leaky bloody things, best to just polish the brass and put on a shelf.. Modern stuff much better..

Noce one GWILLY, just the man!
Some guy on Ebay is saying that he has a rare greas gun cap that was made ofr MG's in the 50's and 60's and that only 2000 were made.
I replied that it was a standard gun that many makes of car used.
Maybe you would know if it is a standard GB 2801 gun, He says the patent numbers are different, but all the ones I ever seen have the same number!
Found out the small cycle gun is for oil.
Found out Tornado does not have grease nipples, WAIL!
Going to polish it up and put on a shelf until I get a Redditch bike.

Chap could be an expert and maybe right.
Dont confuse catalogue numbers with patent nos.
Business end differs in length and fitting dependent on the manufacturer requirement..
This case MGA have at least two cat nos.. Possibly more.. List of manus and applications was endless..

He definitely said GB 2801.
Anyway, I'm not that fussed, let's hope it's all grease under the nipples!
