Apologies, I am being lazy, but just don't have time to look this up today, but need to get it sorted.

My 1994 Indian main light switch got upset last night. When pulling up to a junction, the lights got edgy, and kept flickering and going off.

there's the chance of a loose screw but from trying the switch at journey's end, it seemed like the internal contacts. also flickered in the park position.

Can I open clean or repair this switch, or should I just get another? If I cannot repair it, then I will not be able to use Tornado safely after dark. wail!

Is it easy to remove/replace in the casquette?

Thanks guys!

Don't know for sure Scaly, but I imagine it either pushes out from underneath or there will be retaining nut underneath which *should* be little more than finger tight. You might need to remove the speedo cable from the clock to get room, but you may get in by turning the handlebars hard right and leaving the headlamp in situ. BTW it *looks* like the kind of switch that should dismantle and be servicable... but I am guessing!

Having had a quick fiddle, it seems that I may have a loose connection. rain stopped play however, before I could get a smaller screwdriver and check that.

Both Tornado and I started to turn white. Me, because of the cold, and Tornado, because of the rain. I have no idea what paint or lacquer they used on the bike, but at the slightest sign of moisture, he turns from olive green to white!

I have just wiped the mudguard, but you can see the difference where the raindrops have landed!

The tank is already starting to turn white, whilst the re-painted air-box does not.

Was going to say loose screws as I had the same problem a while back on my 95 350, my black paintwork also turns white in the wet.

[center]after lots of switch turning and wire wiggling, I found that the switch is just held in by some perishing rubber. I pulled it up and there was just enough wire to turn the switch sideways to get to the terminals. Two of them gave for a part turn of the screwdriver, and the problem seems to have been cured.

here is a pic or two...
