'Classic Motor Cycle' article from
way back suggests Dave Mac Supplies
have, or did have, black Smiths 120
mph new faces you can buy. Need one.
Since am overseas, simply need an
alternative supplier who can post,
and be paid with, the usual credit
card online.
Google search does not seem to show
Dave Mac with a web site as of now

Have you looked in the Hitchcocks Accessory Catalogue, They're very likely to have what you want. Give them a ring?

Gordon, Dave Mcmahon is a leading light of the Rudge Club and doesn't have an official business as far as I know. I do know you could try David Woods Chronometric Speedos (Google them,) who should be able to do what you want but you'll probably need to send them a cheque. David is an Enfield owner too, I've had several speedos done by him including most recently a 150mph unit for my Constellation and it's good work. They sell various parts so I don't think a dial would be a problem.

Gordon, I am sure that Mark M is right in terms of where to obtain speedo faces. However, I believe that Dave Mac Supplies is now trading as Dave Mac Propshafts in Coventry
www.davemacprops.com. I had to get a propshaft for my son's car from there about three years ago and the connection with Rudges was obvious from the wall decorations. However the only connection with motorcycles on the website appers to be that they can overhaul Sunbeam S8 propshafts.

Bob, I had forgotten that Dave Mac has another life outside Rudges! In any case I meant that he wasn't a dedicated motorcycle parts supplier and therefore a specialist in Chronometric speedos might be a better bet, as I said before, I can highly recommend Dave Wood's service, he usually has a stand at Kempton Park Autojumble if you want to do business in person. Usual disclaimer as to personal interest applies, by the way!

Mark and Bob, thank you again
for your concrete info. Website
addresses are useful, as calling
the UK from Pacific coast often
miss the shop hours there.
Article was from Jan '95 'CMC',
(slow reader!), but am sure have
seen these faces offered before,
so will contact your sources
next week.
