My Electra has our hosts Amal Concentric carb kit,unrestricted exhaust,Goldie silencer,S & B filter and the PAV has been blanked off.I can't remeber which main jet came in the kit.Although it runs well enough at low and medium speeds i suspect it needs a change in main jet size.It just doesn't seem to want to pull at higher speeds and i suspect it needs jetting up one or two sizes.Does anyone have any advice please?

Hi Martin, Yes I have been doing the very same with my 2008 E/X, same mods etc. plus our hosts expensive TCI unit.
I fitted a 220 main jet as op. the standard 200 supplied and a 3.5 slide and I believe I am getting there bit by bit with some experimenting with needle height, at the moment it`s in the middle slot, so , today I shall be fine tuning the pilot screw, I have been getting some hesitation when pulling away, hence the needle tweak ! I can say up to now it pulls quite strong in top gear at 1/2 - 3/4 throttle. Good luck with that.

Thanks for your input Nick.I forgot to mention i also have the aftermarket TCI unit.I think i was supplied with a 200 main jet so will order a 220 from our hosts.I'm not sure which slide i have but it will be the standard one i'm sure.As i said apart from the top end it runs well enough.Ive aso got to fit the 19 tooth gearbox sprocket...after that i'll be running out of mods.I'm not looking for performance as i have other bikes for that.

Hi again, Martin. Just completed hopefully my final tweaks, all running well with that jet set up and slide, the plug colour is looking good too. I also have 19 tooth sprocket, which made some improvement,not a great deal but in all a more pleasurable ride. All the best to you.
