Hi all! I wonder if there are an easy way to see what year a Bullet engine from?

I thought my was an 59 but now im not sure. The push rods are 15mm longer than it should be so maybe its an earlier model and someone forgotten the valve stem caps that it should be on 49-58.

The rockers are worn and i think its a strange angle on them, maybe thats the reason

I guess the best way is from the engine number. If you send a rubbing of yours to the REOC they will date it for you.

Henrik, what is your engine number? Include the prefix, which will be JS (500) or G2 (350). I have some data here and may be able to get an approximate date for you, but Chris is right that the definitive dating can only come from the REOC. You need to be a Member but it's cheap to join.

Henrik, nope, those numbers are machining codes from the factory to show they are a matched pair. Engine number is on the left side (if the engine is facing forwards,) below the barrel face at the front of the engine just behind the front mounting plates.

Hi Mark! 1959 was i told when i bought the bike so now when your book said so it will surely be the case.I was just a bit confused when push rods where so long..          I have ordered a rockerset an push rod cups from our host so i hope it will work ok when assembled.

Thanks for all your help, very kind of you.                          Regards Henrik.
