Hi Folks
bit of a daft one but I'm sure someone else has had this and fixed it elegantly...

The vinyl on my electra (ex)-x (now kick-start only) is coming unstuck from the underside of the seat.

I've tried a bunch of different sticky solutions but none of them have worked. Need a contact adhesive I guess... Anyone got any good ideas?

Cheers,

What is your base made from?

Evo Stik usually does it for me but at points of strain (front and sides adjacent to the main sitting area!) I find it useful to add a pop rivet with a spreader washer if the base is steel or a heavy duty staple if the base is plastic. REgards, Mark

....Or a startooth washer on an shortened aluminium nail or rivet around the base under the cover for a steel pan, Staples from a propper staple gun for a plastic pan like MarkM says. I used this method for a Kawasaki drifter seat. If you are going to do the entire hem of the cover, it might be worth your while removing the cover to put a layer of that thin silky polythene sheet (like you see sometimes in butchers shops or in packaging etc) over the sponge rubber,- it's porous! It stops it absorbing water in the autumn and spring and turning it into a freezing brick in the winter!
