Evening All

Bullet 500, 2004, 4speed box

Main jet 120

Needle jet 08

pilot jet 27.5

slide 2.5

circlip in bottom slot i.e. richest position

S&B conical filter & one of hitches short universal silencers, bit rusty

Hi level pipe which is 1.5 inches diameter not 1.75. Is this normal?

Center porcelain of the Iridium plug is a mid browny colour.

This is how the bike came to me.

I have just fitted a megaphone silencer as it comes from Hitches, God its loud, what’s it like with the insides taken out………

Anyway less of this idle chitchat, can anyone tell me if there is a fixed relationship between the 5 slots on the carb needle, for minor adjustments on the 28mm Micarb, to the different sizes of needle jets.

I.e. would the max adjustment from the top to the bottom slot be the equivalent of changing a needle jet from 08 to PO.

I ask this as I think I should maybe change the jetting as it is nowhere near the recommendations in the catalogue for free flowing air filter & exhaust.

Regards Fred.

Hi Freddy: Try looking at Technical Notes in the menue on the left of this screen, then Carburettors, then Tuning and Using Mickcarb Carburettors. Lots of owners on this board like to fix things till they break, so something will be out of wack.

Look at page 18 of the on-line catalogue. There's a table there for various jettings.

When you have the carb. right, don't forget the type of fuel you use, people use anything from 87 to 100, have found by experiment which I prefer.
