I sold my 2007 Bullet to a first timer at the end of 2011, who just had to have my Bullet. simplest possible, British 4 speed right foot change, TLS drum brake etc. glad to see it going to a local Swiss who really cares about the bike. A few calls over the last three months for my advice then last night he rang up to say he had been trying to find TDC with a short plastic stick. Lo and behold, he turned the engine over and lost it.
After a pleasant morning at my monthly meeting in Germany, I joined him after lunch and we got the head off (First time for me too on a Bullet.) Thanks to some other experience and reading so many helpful threads here, we got it all stripped down, no damage and the head and valves after 16,00km had a light black soft carbon deposit. Really enjoyed getting my hands dirty and helping a fellow rider through his problem. I asked him to repeat after me the first gospel. "If it ain't broke don't fix it." LOL

Glad to lend a hand..

Yep, that bore goes a long way down doesn't it, :)
I discovered that today finding TDC, (but previous experience has taught me to use a screwdriver and careful rotation, the handle stops it falling in)
Good to hear you were happy to help a new owner and encourage him, so many people just couldn't care less once they sell a vehicle.

Glad to lend a hand..

Thanks M1KS. When I got my first Bullet in 2007, there was no one around to offer, help except this site, so it has been a real pleasure to help Daniel. When he finally gets it back together and passes his driving test, he plans to ride it to India. Might be neat to join him on my EFI then.
