Tinker has always started with the throttle fully closed, until this evening. Having repaired the distributor back plate she will now only start with about a quarter of a turn on the twistgrip. How can this be??????

Having repaired the back plate and reset the ignition timing and points gap the spark now arrives at a slightly different point, consequently other settings have to be altered. It's not often someone queries a Enfield for starting! Most of us are greatful when the buggers actually work as they should.

She's fine, Tornado has done the same. A change of jets, and more power, but more throttle to start!
