hi all, has anyone substituted a different more reliable type of coil jap/german to their bullet? I have a 500 e/s four speed and i think the coil is playing up don't want to buy a standard one if there is a better alternative.

Standard coil is usually good enough but ant 12 volt coil from a points ignition car will work ok

There are SPORTS coils on the market suitable for older design 12 volt ignition systems.
I had one on my 1970 VW Superbug, not that I noticed any difference; and as a rule I don`t fix things that aren`t broken,I didn`t worry too much about it.
