For some reason I'm always leaving the flippin' indicators on when riding my new UCE Bullet.

Have any of you guys bought one of those warning gizmos that you could recommend? Obviously a fairly straightforward installation would be very helpful.

Thanks.

I had those piezo electric audible squeekers, but when stationary at a junction, they were so loud and annoying, I had to cut them out again!

Fitted a BA9s LED lamp in the tell tale. You soon notice if you left them on, bright even in sunlight!

I have a Beeper somewhat similar to Scalyback`s; it is under the seat, so it is quieter and I can hardly hear it when wearing earplugs. It is good when parking and I am about to walk away from the bike. I also have painted the switch with two white lines which line up when the indicators are off, it is easy to just glance at it to check if they are aligned whilst riding.

I found it easier not to use the blinkers, that way if you forget to turn them off so you don't have somebody turn infront of you thinking that you were turning

I use them on all my bikes that have indicators.

There are also versions that are silent whilst brake light on and operate with a timer. The ones I tried the buzzer failed after a while. I ended up with an extra idiot light stuck right in my field on vision (not enfield).

Thanks for your comments and advice, guys. I quite like the idea of making my own, but I would prefer to have some kind of a timer device so they only start bleeping after maybe 30s or so. The electronics should be fairly simple - I'll give it some thought. I also like the idea of one that remains silent if the brake light is on.

Scaly - where did you buy the LED lamp from? Am I right in thinking it's one of those "push in" bulbs, with a kind of glass blade on the bottom?

Cheers again, guys.

I'm surprised the mew models have not got self cancelling indicators fitted from new. I'm amazed its not been demanded especially in Europe for imports.

Hi Thack, the best LED telltale so far is the BA9s from superbrightleds, USA they take about a week to come. Check out the link below for other neat lamps for Enfields.

ONE POINT, If you wish to change the 4 main indicator bulbs, then problems can arise from the way they work. First you need an electronic flasher unit, then If the tell tale fails to work, then replace one of the old lamps in each side (front or back).

My bullet had two squeekers, due to the wiring, left to earth and right to earth.
