Just a "Heads Up" for the Midland Bullet Riders web site: http://www.midlandbullets.co.uk which is well worth a look at. There is also a good photo feature of the gearbox too so they might well help with fault diagnosis, although the selector mechanism set up is often the problem. Thanks Pete.

Hi LES H}------- not my day to-day !! For some reason I can't get a print off the gearbox diagramme but can view and scroll OK ( I have ADOBE READER X loaded) so I thought I'd register for the Midland Bullet Riders forum as they seem right up my street-------- the local Enfield Owners Branch just want to go Rallying all the time (Done that, got the damp bones and all !!)---- but the registration page is U/S at the mo !! Hi Alan. Thanks for taking a look at the gearbox diagrams and wanting to print them off. I have just been to the site and opened up the pdf file. The file is absolutely identical to the one I created with no extra security or limitations. It prints off quite simply and reliably. If I send you my version which is identical in EVERY way there will be no difference in your printing ability. It must be your Adobe Software needs updating or reloading. BTW. the main concept of the set is to get an animated view of how the selector fork moves the sets of gears to change the gear ratios. This is done by turning the mouse wheel. You should be able to flip through all the gears and also see the parts positions with just a small amount of mouse wheel movements... have another go and see what happens. If after downloading the file the pdf opens with the "Adobe" control at the bottom, click on the Adobe symbol on the far right of this bottom abbreviated toolbar....The tool bar will then move up to the top of the diagram and is far more comprehensive. You might then be able to use the print function. As said before the one which is on-line is 100% identical to the one I created................................................................... I note you mention Enfield. This is my original home area and was in several clubs there. The British Motorcycle Club Essex was/is excellent they meet up at the Kings Head Pub…High Beach…Epping Forest…It seems they is another new pub called the Duke of Wellington they use now?................

Hello again LES}--- I've had another go but it keeps coming up with a notice saying "This page has become unresponsive" meaning the Midland Bullet Riders link that I had just used. I'm a bit concerned about Adobe security because when trying a free sample of their latest product the ---http---- link is shown as disconnected. Is that normal ??. Also, why is your posting on here wider than normal ? Is that a fault with my screen ?? Sorry to be a pain but that's the best description of the Albion box yet seen. I wondered how they managed with just the one sliding fork. Hadn't realised the gear wheel slid right across the oval sectioned teeth on the shaft. Someone was on magic mushrooms that particular day !! Cheers------------

Hi Alan my last post went off as you have made your last reply so we have an overlap...back to the file. I'll email you direct then, but my hunch is that it will be just the same, but something might be different. As far as the working goes comparing it to the AMC Norton box the selector is definitely on the heavy side due to having to move all 4 gears (1 combined set & 2 separate) unlike the AMC box which just moves one dogged gear wheel and sometimes two. The BSA and Triumph all work a little differently. I’ve done the AMC version and will finish the BSA and Triumph at some time too.

ANOTHER OVERLAP!...yes i'm loosing it Alan! Did the ride yesterday, not going out today. Perhaps the vibes has shook up the grey matter and blurred me eye sight!
