Hi, all as you know I am brand new to Enfields, I have a 2005 Electra X, it has only done 2093 miles. After its first real run for 2 years, oil is weeping from left hand side of cylinder head and barrel.
Would it be OK to torque this up on the 6 bolts, or is this a quirk of the bike.
What is the torque setting and which order
Any answers please.

It all depend how much it leaks. Do your trousers get wet while driving or is it only few drops now and then? Changing the head gasket is a quite simple operation provided you have correct tools.
I too have a 2005 Electra. It had a very tiny seepage from new from the pushrod side. After maybe 30 000 km's I changed the head gasket and the leak disappeared. I'm now on my third head gasket (46 000) and this one again is leaking... well, not a real leak but some times a drop or two which messes up things a bit.
If the leakage is not severe I wouldn't bother with it. Keep cleaning and buy a spare gasket just for sure.

Its only a weep i.e. the fin on the barrel is lightly coated

Hi, just read the hosts "how to decoke a bullet" its easy to read and follow. 22lb for cylinder head nuts. Will give it a try. Fantastic, engines I can work on without a computer degree

My one does it too, from the same place. Most do I've been told. A wipe after a ride and occasionally a squirt of degreaser keeps it clean. It's worth checking the breather pipes for blockages otherwise forget about it is my advice.

I had mine from new off our hosts in 2010 and it always weeped slightly on the right side like yours.I only did 1000 miles a year til I swapped for an EFI and it never got better or worse.

Many thanks, Martin and Frank.
Will give it a wipe and a ride to the seaside today, sunny Barmouth
