Thank you both for the response to the earlier post. Mark forgot to say it relates to the T120R Triumph which is fitted from your numbers with the coil numbers you quote per the manual. The previous problem you may recall (for which your comments were very helpful and I hope you saw my thanks expressed on the site in an earlier email) seems to be a badly leaking gasket around the float bowl but it is carb/fuel related and maybe the bike will be treated to 2 new Premier Amals when I get it fully tested out as I suspect the carbs are 40 years + and have to be worn. I tested the coils as I was thinking maybe they would be worn out also if they were that old as well. What we seem to have is a bike which has run effectively for 10 years off a Mark III Bransden electronic ignition (fitted pre I bought it in 2004) which recommends 2 6volt coils but with what I guess are the 40 year old 12 Volt Lucas originals. The readings given that Mark recognised them and could trace the workshop manual part numbers are probably fine working within tolerance. The interesting thing to me now is given that the electronic ignition should be 2 volt coils as stated is how they have worked for the last 10 years with no problems. Anyway thank you both again for your time and expertise it is greatly appreciated. Hope to meet you one day at an Enfield rally withy my 57 350cc (far simpler for me to have rebuilt and keep running) and say thanks in person. Regards, Hugh

Thanks Hugh! It's possible a previous owner (PO) did the conversion on the cheap and left the original coils on there? The Boyer will work with the "wrong" coils but will probably have a shorter life. Anyway, good luck! REgards, Mark
